Welcome to Orthoworld Nottingham, we provide specialist orthodontic treatment for both adults and children in the heart of Nottingham city centre. We offer both NHS and private teeth straightening treatment. Our different treatments consist of stainless-steel brackets, iconix (champagne coloured brackets), ceramic (tooth coloured) brackets, Invisalign (removable clear aligners). We have a highly experienced dedicated friendly team. The patient area is all one level making accessibility easy. There is a pay and display car park right next to the practice and the practice is easily accessible by local public transport links. We offer free appointments with our treatment coordinator to discuss our different treatments and affordable finance options. You do not have to be referred to us by your general dentist to have teeth straightening treatment, just click on ‘arrange a consultation’ and someone will be in contact with you.

    "Can't rate this place enough. The reception staff are really polite and professional. The clinic is very clean and hygienic. Even during the covid pandemic of 2020, it's easily accessible and has straight forward guidelines. I saw the orthodontist Alex and he couldn't have been more welcoming or knowledgeable. I felt relaxed and comfortable the whole time (which is saying something when it comes to visiting the dentist!). I actually visited to see if they could take over my treatment from another practice, but they pointed out my current treatment was the most practical approach and advised me to stick it out. This shows that patient care is prioritized over bottom line profit, quite a rare phenomenon in this day and age. I'd recommend anyone in the surrounding area to use this practice. (I travelled from the Ashfield district and would still consider changing to this place as my regular dentist once my treatment is finished."

Under 18's braces

It’s common for orthodontic treatment to begin in the teenage years, once all or most of the permanent teeth have come through. At that point it becomes clear whether someone might have dental concerns such as significant crowding, an over or underbite, or difficulty biting the teeth together which might affect eating or properly cleaning the teeth.

In cases where these issues are significant, braces will be available on the NHS. They assess who will receive braces according to a scoring system called the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need, or IOTN score.

Some teens may not meet the IOTN score, in which case the NHS treatment is not available, or the waiting list in their area may be very long meaning they are unable to start treatment quickly. That is why we have a range of affordable private orthodontic treatments available for teenagers.

    Metal fixed appliances consist of small metal brackets attached to the teeth with a wire tied into the brackets. The wires are then used to move the teeth into the desired position giving the orthodontist control over the tooth movements. The ties can be coloured giving you the option to customise the brace.

    Iconix braces are a sophisticated and elegant alternative to traditional braces. These braces are made of stainless-steel champagne-coloured brackets that provide aesthetics of rose gold attached to the teeth with a wire tied into the brackets. The wires are then used to move the teeth into the desired position giving the orthodontist control over the tooth movements.

    Clear aligners offer a virtually invisible way to straighten teeth using a series of clear, customised removable aligners that fit snugly over your teeth. Advanced technology allows you to visualise your completed treatment. This is a great option for those wanting a more discreet, wire free treatment.

  • Dr .Dora Wittmer (Orthodontist) Qualified from: University of Debrecen 2002 Specialist Orthodontist University of Debrecen 2010 Debrecan, 2002 GDC No: 229594
    Dora is a specialist orthodontist who graduated in Dentistry in 2002 at the Medical University Debrecen, Hungary. In 2004 she became a Specialist Dentist and in 2010 a Specialist Orthodontist. Dora completed her training in Invisalign in London 2013 and her master class training in 2014.She is an experienced clear aligner provider. She is constantly updating her knowledge with nationwide and international courses. Dora is a member of the British Orthodontic Society and the European Orthodontic Society. She also has experience in fixed appliances and passive self ligation systems. Dora has a passion about aesthetics and she has completed an advanced anti-ageing course at the Derma Institute Manchester. In her free time she likes travelling and spending time with her family and her dog.
  • Dr.Spoorthy Mallikarjuna Qualified from: BDS Rajiv Gandhi 2009, MDS India, 2013 GDC No: 277490
    Dr Spoorthy Mallikarjuna graduated in dentistry in 2009 from JSS Dental College in India, working as a general dentist before embarking on a Masters in Orthodontics and Dental facial Orthopaedics, completing this in 2013. During her masters, she received an award for her case report on Function and Esthetic Rehabilitation of cleft lip and palate clinical paper. She also has experience as a dental educator and teacher and has also worked as a consultant orthodontist in India before moving to the UK. Since coming to the UK, she has completed equivalent exams and has been enjoying treating patients with fixed braces and Invisalign for teenagers and adults, Dr Spoorthy is now an accredited Invisalign Platinum Elite provider and continues to keep up to date with the advances in orthodontics by completing CPD. Designing smiles and keeping her patients smiling is what keeps her motivated.
  • Ms.Deana Amir Al-Darwash Qualified from: BDS Baghdad 2004 Baghdad, 2004 GDC No: 243460
    Dr Deana is passionate in levelling her patients’ teeth, she graduated in 2004 and delved into a career as a dentist. Although she enjoyed the profession for a full ten years, Deana strived to further her career in this field. She started her second passion in dentistry and studied a Postgraduate in Orthodontics. After achieving her MJDF from the Royal College of Surgeon of England in 2014, she pursued further education and began a Master’s Degree at Warwick University. Dr Deana has been practicing Orthodontics since then. “My best moments are when I see the big smile drawn on my patients’ faces, the confidence they gain throughout the braces journey and the gratefulness they show me toward the quality of work received is beyond description. I count the past 8 years of experience in Orthodontics as the best years in my career.
